In order to organize international activity, the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts establishes the European Integration and Academic Mobility (SIEMA) section, through which AMTAP ensures the decision-making and operational framework necessary for the development of international relations, with the aim of its own development, with those institutions (higher education, organizations, foundations, professional associations, consortia and commercial companies) that are in its sphere of interest, in accordance with its mission as an institution of higher artistic education. Through the activity of international relations, European integration and academic mobility, the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts capitalizes on its internal potential (educational, scientific, creative, managerial), gains access to the market of ideas in the sphere of higher education and European and world culture, assimilating and putting into circulation values on which its prestige is based.
The European Integration and Academic Mobility Section (SIEMA) is a structural unit of AMTAP that coordinates and provides support services necessary for the smooth conduct of international relations activities within the faculties and departments/chairs.
International relations activity is a transparent activity, any member of the academic community having the right to be informed about existing opportunities and related technical details. The participation of members of the academic community in international relations activities is done with the notification and approval given by the management of the faculties to which they belong. The essence of international activity lies with the faculties and chairs/departments.
Responsibilities of the European Integration and Academic Mobility section:
- initiating and drafting international academic cooperation agreements;
- obtaining and managing grants, scholarships, and other specific funding;
- participating in conferences, symposiums, training sessions, international meetings;
- participating in international academic events, festivals, and artistic competitions;
- inviting lecturers, artists, and foreign specialists;
- drafting international correspondence aimed at enlarging the number of international academic cooperation agreements;
- organizing visits with an international character;
- activities aimed at attracting foreign students;
- compiling a database of projects in progress or completed;
- informing potential beneficiaries about funding opportunities for students, academic staff, and administrative personnel;
- organizing the selection process for beneficiaries of academic mobility under the regulations and the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education);
- organizing consultations with students and professors before departure for mobility;
- facilitating, for students and the selected teaching/administrative staff, contacts with the host institution in a timely manner to ensure good information about housing conditions and concrete work programs;
- organizing and monitoring the implementation of mobility for both students and AMTAP academic/administrative staff going abroad, and for students and UE academic/administrative staff performing mobility at AMTAP, under the quality conditions stipulated by the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education;
- facilitating visa acquisition for students and AMTAP academic/administrative staff moving abroad, as well as for students and UE academic/administrative staff moving to AMTAP;
- facilitating cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture to inform them about the execution of mobility programs and projects; reporting to the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, and other authorized institutions on mobility projects and other educational, cultural, and artistic projects conducted within AMTAP;
- facilitating cooperation with the National Erasmus+ Office, CEEPUS, ANTENNA, and other national offices to organize mobility opportunities for AMTAP students, professors, and staff;
- facilitating cooperation with cultural foundations, embassies, private companies, and other international and national bodies to carry out educational, cultural-artistic projects and programs involving AMTAP students and professors;
- supporting the reintegration of beneficiaries returning from mobility;
- managing funding contracts with foreign partners/funders;
- disseminating and exploring project results by identifying best practices, innovative methods, and transferable professional outcomes through online and offline information dissemination;
- advising beneficiaries or potential mobility grant recipients.
